Senior Cloud Engineer

We’re evoke, one of the world’s leading betting and gaming companies and we’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments in a highly regulated industry.

This role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes infrastructure planning and operations, hybrid cloud design, and compliance-aware engineering practices. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring the infrastructure meets strict security, performance, and audit requirements while supporting the needs of modern development teams.

You’ll be working in our DevOps Tooling Team who’s responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the foundational infrastructure that powers both on-premises and cloud environments. The team manages production-grade Kubernetes platforms, DevOps and CI/CD tooling, artifact repositories, and other core systems that enable secure, efficient software delivery. Operating in a highly regulated environment, the team ensures platform reliability, compliance, and scalability to support critical production workloads across our organisation.

What you will be doing:

  • Implementing and managing hybrid infrastructure combining on-premises systems (e.g., VMware) with a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Leading the design, operation, and scaling of Kubernetes clusters in both on-prem and cloud settings, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance
  • Building and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Helm for repeatable and audit-able infrastructure changes and designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to support regulated software development and deployment
  • Ensuring infrastructure systems comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, or industry-specific standards)
  • Utilising observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic) for monitoring and auditing across hybrid systems
  • Collaborating with Security, Compliance, and Development teams to embed governance and risk controls into infrastructure architecture
  • Designing and enforcing secure networking practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption standards, and secrets management across both cloud and on-prem environments
  • Participating in risk assessments, audits, documentation, and incident response activities aligned with regulatory standards and mentoring engineers to provide leadership on platform and infrastructure direction.
