Cloud Engineer
We are evoke, one of the world’s leading betting and gaming companies. The Group owns and operates internationally renowned brands including William Hill, 888, and Mr Green and we’re looking for a Cloud engineer (with programming skills) to join Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Team whose mission is to provide highly performant and available services to our customers. Our services and infrastructure need to be resilient - must be able to withstand and recover quickly when pushed to their absolute limits.
To do this we need people who will own it, give a damn, never settle, and care about continuous improvement. We are looking for people who, besides programming skills, have experience in provisioning infrastructure using public cloud provider, know how to automate deployment process and have experience in application and infrastructure monitoring.
The tech stack used within the team:
programming language: JavaScript with TypeScript, public cloud: AWS (services: ECS, EKS, ECR, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS and many more), IaC: Terraform, CI/CD: GitLab CI, Github Actions, monitoring tool: New Relic
What you will be doing:
Implementing internal tools to automate manual workflows Contributing to generic CI/CD pipelines used across teams
Developing bot and fraud prevention solutions
Improving the reliability of Evoke systems
Proposing improvements for graceful service degradation
Enhancing monitoring (primarily in New Relic)
Supporting continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and presenting them for architectural review
Stress-testing systems and infrastructure to identify weaknesses
Who we are looking for:

- Great communication skills with experience with high traffic systems and products, understanding enterprise applications operational aspects (scalability, monitoring, zero downtime upgrades etc.)
- Good knowledge of and experience with JS
- Experience with at least one public cloud provider (preferably AWS)
- Understanding of concepts and experience with CI/CD (preferably GitLab CI)
